In Regional administration Vidin was held the regular meeting of the Regional Advisory Council for Tourism. Main focus of the meeting was the participation of the region in the forthcoming International Tourist Fair HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO 2014 that will take place on February 13-15, 2014 in Inter Expo Center, Sofia. The members of the Council discussed the future project initiatives of the municipalities in tourism and the upcoming activities that local authorities will implement this year.
Regional administration Vidin financed the participation of Vidin region on the forthcoming International Tourist Fair HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO 2014 through project “TRANSDANUBE – Sustainable Transport and Tourism along the Danube”. Mr. Evtim Stefanov, Executive Director of the Agency for Regional Development and Business Center – Vidin informed the attendees about the concept for presenting Vidin region at the forthcoming Tourist Fair. The exhibition stand of the region will be 9 square meters. The visitors of the tourist market will be able to get information about tourist and cultural attractions of the territory of Vidin and to taste local wines. There will be presented promotional materials and four tourist packages developed under project TRANSDANUBE. During the exhibition will be broadcasted presentations and short movies promoting the cultural and historical heritage of the region and the potential for tourism in the border region Vidin – Bulgaria and Bor – Serbia.
Along with Regional administration Vidin, at the exhibition stand will take part the municipalities of Belogradchik, Vidin and Chuprene. Also there will be the Chamber of Commerce Vidin, Agency for Regional Development and Business Center – Vidin and representatives of hotels and restaurants from the region.
The International Tourist Fair HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO 2014 is organized under the patronage of Ministry of the Economy and Energy and it is a good opportunity for Vidin region to present advantages for the development of tourism to national tourism organizations, tour operators, municipalities and companies from Bulgaria and 20 countries around the world.
TRANSDANUBE – Sustainable transport and tourism along the Danube region aims to develop the sustainable mobility along the Danube through the promotion of alternative models of transport – train, bus, bicycle and ship and the sustainable development of the tourism along the Danube region. TRANSDANUBE is international project and there are participating 14 financial partners from 6 countries and more than 35 strategic partners and observers. TRANSDANUBE is financed by the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme and contributes to achieving the objectives of the European polices and strategies and particularly the implementation of the European Strategy for the Danube region.
